strategist

During my junior year at the University of Richmond, I had the opportunity to take an elective based on my interests. I was drawn to a class called Inequity in Education, and it completely changed the way I view the world.
This class lit a fire in me to do something about the inequities our education system. Even though I studied business all four years, I decided to become a teacher after graduating. From 2020 to 2022, I taught second grade at a Title 1 charter school in Washington, DC.

I never planned to be teaching 7- and 8-year-olds in the middle of a global pandemic, but the experience is ultimately what makes me a great strategist. When I feel passionate about something, I dive in headfirst to understand it from the inside.
Teaching also taught me a great deal. I left that experience with empathy, confidence, and a deeper sensitivity to other people's experiences. While that chapter is over, I will never regret the way it changed my life.
